Contacting therapeutic counsellors

Fees and first steps

Once you submit an enquiry, I will be in touch to arrange a free 10-15 minute telephone consultation. This is something I do with any potential client, for us to get a sense of each other before booking in a face-to-face assessment session.

If, after speaking, you would like to book in an initial assessment, this would be a full 50-minute session, charged at my assessment rate of £45. The assessment is an opportunity for you to share what has brought you to therapy, and for us to discuss what you would like to focus on in our work together. It is also a mutual assessment of whether we feel we can work together, and whether or not you feel I am the right therapist for you.

If you then decide you would like to continue working together, we would agree on a regular weekly slot which would belong to you – the same day and time each week – and on a number of sessions (initially between 6 & 12), after which time our work could become open-ended. All subsequent sessions after assessment are charged at the full session rate.

When you’re considering counselling think about your commitment and when you can find a suitable time. It may not be an easy journey but it will certainly be worth it.
