Exciting news. I am training as a supervisor. It’s been a long time coming and not because of experience, time as a therapist or ability to do it. I have thought long and hard about the ‘right time’ and my motivations for being a supervisor.
As those of you know, who have worked with me, I am an ethical practitioner at my core. Being a supervisor is not something that should be automatic when a counsellor reaches ‘enough hours’ or to make more money. It should be something to carefully consider. What can I offer? What is my modality? It is a position of responsibility and in that should not be taken lightly. Having said that, this is of course my personal opinion and if a counsellor is ready, why wait? Challenge me on this?
I love working with other counsellors so please do get in touch over the next few months if you are looking for some supervision. I will be working on another blog explaining what sort of supervisor I hope to be, what you can expect and what I can work with. It goes without saying that I will have Neurodivergence on this list but I will be writing about my key modality and how I work and then you can consider if I am a good fit for you and yours.
